In the meantime, I played a few Japanese campaigns, which I am now publishing.
When choosing the campaigns, I am aware that I will massively damage my good points average per campaign. On the other hand, it would be a shame and a coward not to take up the challenge.

I looked at Kowdar's description of the W17 campaign and, looking back, I realize that his version must be very old, because the description and the purchase and use of certain units (especially aircraft) is not compatible with the current state of the campaign.
The first part of the campaign is very difficult to play. I tried to at least get better results than Kowdar and not lose a scenario. I also had to learn to accept easy or tactical victories.

W międzyczasie rozegrałem kilka japońskich kampanii, które teraz publikuję.
Wybierając kampanie, zdaję sobie sprawę, że mocno nadszarpnę swoją średnią dobrych punktów na kampanię. Z drugiej strony wstydem i tchórzostwem byłoby nie podjąć wyzwania.

Spojrzałem na opis kampanii W17 autorstwa Kowdara i patrząc wstecz, zdaję sobie sprawę, że jego wersja musi być bardzo stara, ponieważ opis oraz zakup i wykorzystanie niektórych jednostek (zwłaszcza samolotów) nie są zgodne z obecnym stanem kampanii.
Pierwsza część kampanii jest bardzo trudna do rozegrania. Starałem się przynajmniej osiągnąć lepsze wyniki niż Kowdar i nie przegrać żadnego scenariusza. Musiałem też nauczyć się akceptować łatwe lub taktyczne zwycięstwa.

I understand your reasoning and remember using the ports well. The map also appears in some other campaigns and you get a lot of experience over the years on how to use them.
However, the practical implementation in the case of motorcycles seems unrealistic to me.
The total map prestige is 1760pp and a motorcycle scout costs 156pp. This means that a maximum of 11 motorcycles can be bought by the end of the scenario. But the purchase would make no sense to me, because you can't eliminate entrenched units supported by AT and ATY and conquer VH's with the motorcycles. Also, there are several German scout cars driving around on the map that cannot be fought by the motorcycles because their HA value is zero. I therefore looked for other solutions, but didn't find them for myself.
The cheapest combination of INF + motorcycle costs 96pp + 132pp = 228pp. That exceeds the available budget at the beginning of the war
Another problem for the Japanese is that they don't have a usable transport for the ATY at the beginning of the war. Kowdar has already complained about this and I can agree with him.

However, the practical implementation in the case of motorcycles seems unrealistic to me.
The total map prestige is 1760pp and a motorcycle scout costs 156pp. This means that a maximum of 11 motorcycles can be bought by the end of the scenario. But the purchase would make no sense to me, because you can't eliminate entrenched units supported by AT and ATY and conquer VH's with the motorcycles. Also, there are several German scout cars driving around on the map that cannot be fought by the motorcycles because their HA value is zero. I therefore looked for other solutions, but didn't find them for myself.
The cheapest combination of INF + motorcycle costs 96pp + 132pp = 228pp. That exceeds the available budget at the beginning of the war
I gave the 21 units example, as extreme solution example.
It is obvious that this cannot be repeated on such a scale, as the organization of motorcycle troops and prices have changed significantly since then..

This was my first atempt at BV (many years ago), and I sold core units to reach the mentioned number of troops.

Ok, so you've gained a lot of experience and were better prepared from attempt to attempt.
For me, there is a major inhibition threshold, namely the massive sale of core units. I would most likely not have done that in my ignorance of the future expected prestige cap.

Looking back, I can report that the situation will improve later, but the next scenario proves the opposite for now. In the end, I was happy about the tactical victory and I have to admit that even I don't get the right approach to every scenario - failure is no shame if you learn from it.
